Microneedling Cost in Newmarket: What Determines Your Price

What microneedling costs in Newmarket and why prices vary so widely. Per-session vs package pricing, equipment quality, and what to ask before booking.

"How much does microneedling cost in Newmarket?" is the second-most-common question we field about the treatment, right after "does it hurt?". The honest answer is that microneedling pricing varies more than almost any other treatment we offer — anywhere from $80 to $500 per session in the GTA — and most of that variance comes from a single thing: the equipment.

This guide walks through how microneedling is priced in Newmarket, what to look for, and where the cheap end gets you in trouble.

How microneedling is priced

Microneedling is priced per session at most clinics, including ours. A single session at Leslie Med Spa starts at $250 for a full-face treatment. Some clinics also offer package pricing on the standard 3-to-6-session series, which brings the per-session cost down meaningfully — that's how we structure ours.

What's typically included in a session:

  • The treatment itself (full-face is standard; neck and décolletage are common add-ons)
  • Topical numbing cream applied 30 to 45 minutes before the treatment
  • A soothing post-treatment serum or mask
  • Written aftercare instructions

Add-ons that adjust the price:

  • Hyaluronic acid infusion — boosts hydration during the immediate post-treatment window (~$50–$75)
  • LED light therapy — combined in the same visit, accelerates healing and amplifies collagen response (~$40–$60)
  • Extended treatment areas — neck, décolletage, hands, scalp (each adds modular cost)

Why microneedling prices vary so much in the GTA

The biggest single driver of price is the equipment. Microneedling is one of those treatments where what's actually puncturing your skin matters enormously, and there are three tiers of devices in common use:

Tier 1: Cheap pen-style "dermapens"

These are the devices you see at $80–$120 sessions, often at smaller esthetician studios. The needles in cheap pens are knife-shaped — they cut and damage skin rather than gently displacing tissue. The results are inconsistent, healing is slower, and inflammation is higher. The collagen response (which is the entire point of microneedling) is unreliable.

Tier 2: Mid-tier automated pen devices

These are the $150–$250 sessions you'll find at most franchise medspas. The pens are better-built and the needles are sharper, but they're still cosmetic devices, not medical-grade. Results are decent for surface concerns (texture, pores) but underwhelming for deeper concerns (acne scarring, stretch marks).

Tier 3: Medical-grade Health-Canada-licensed devices

This is what we use — the Dermaroller eDermaStamp, a German-engineered device with precision cone-shaped needles that gently displace tissue rather than cutting. It is one of the few microneedling platforms licensed by Health Canada as a medical device. Sessions start at $250 and go up depending on area and add-ons.

The price difference between tier 2 and tier 3 isn't margin-stacking — it's the device. Medical-grade microneedling devices cost five to ten times what cosmetic pens cost, and the operator licensing requirements are different.

What you should expect by price band

| Price per session | What you're likely getting | |---|---| | Under $150 | Cheap pen-style device, esthetician operator, surface-level results, slower healing | | $150 to $250 | Mid-tier automated pen, franchise medspa, decent results on texture/pores | | $250 and up | Medical-grade device (Dermaroller, SkinPen Precision, or similar), Health Canada-licensed, reliable results across concerns including acne scarring |

If you're treating significant acne scarring, deeper texture concerns, or stretch marks, anything below tier 3 is unlikely to give you the results you're expecting. For surface-level brightening and pore reduction, tier 2 may be adequate.

Package pricing — the math

The standard microneedling protocol is 3 to 6 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. A 4-session package brings down per-session cost meaningfully — typically 15% to 25%. We offer package pricing on every microneedling series and quote the full series total during your free consultation.

Real example: a single full-face session at $250 vs a 4-session package that works out to roughly $200 per session. Over the course of the protocol, that's a meaningful saving without compromising on equipment quality.

Questions worth asking before you book

Before you book microneedling anywhere — including with us — ask:

  1. What device do you use? Specifically: brand and model, not "professional microneedling pen". The answer should be a Health-Canada-licensed device. The eDermaStamp by Dermaroller is one such device; SkinPen Precision is another.
  2. Is the operator licensed? Some microneedling devices are restricted to medical professionals or licensed estheticians under specific certifications.
  3. What depth do you treat at? Different concerns need different needle depths. Generic settings produce generic results.
  4. What's the aftercare? A clinic that hands you nothing in writing and doesn't explain post-care is one to avoid.
  5. What's included vs add-on? Numbing cream should be standard. Hyaluronic infusion is usually add-on.

When microneedling is worth the higher price

For these concerns, the medical-grade tier is genuinely worth the cost difference:

  • Atrophic (depressed) acne scarring — the deeper, more aggressive collagen-induction response of medical devices is what makes the difference here.
  • Stretch marks — body-area microneedling on stretch marks needs proper depth and reliable equipment.
  • Skin laxity around the eyes — precision matters around delicate areas.
  • Long-term skin health regimen — if you're doing 4 to 6 sessions, equipment quality compounds.

For surface-level brightening or one-off pre-event glow, you may get acceptable results from a tier-2 clinic — but you'll likely repeat the treatment more often, which closes the cost gap quickly.

Microneedling vs other treatments — the cost comparison

Here's how microneedling stacks up against alternatives for similar concerns:

  • Microneedling vs RF microneedling: RF adds heat for deeper collagen response. Sessions run $400–$700. Worth it for skin tightening; overkill for most texture concerns.
  • Microneedling vs laser resurfacing: CO2 fractional laser sessions run $800–$2,000 with significant downtime. More dramatic results; requires a different recovery commitment.
  • Microneedling vs chemical peels: Light peels cost $80–$150 and address different concerns. Medium peels run $200–$400.

For most clients addressing texture, pore size, fine lines, or mild acne scarring, microneedling at the medical-grade tier is the best ratio of result-per-dollar.
