OxyGeneo Before & After: What Real Results Look Like
What OxyGeneo before and after results actually look like — what to expect after one session, after a series, and which concerns respond best. Honest before/after guide.
OxyGeneo before-and-after results are the question we get asked most often when clients are deciding whether the treatment is worth the investment. The marketing photos online tend to overstate what one session can do, and in fairness to the technology, it produces visible results that most facials simply don't. The truth sits between those two extremes.
This guide walks through what to actually expect — after one session, after a series of four, and over a year of consistent treatments — based on what we see across thousands of OxyGeneo treatments delivered at our Newmarket clinic since the platform launched in Canada.
After one session
Within the 45-minute treatment itself, you'll see the most dramatic visible change of any single facial: the skin appears noticeably brighter, plumper, and more even-toned within the last 10 minutes of the session. This is the immediate post-treatment glow, and it's what makes OxyGeneo such a popular pre-event facial.
What's specifically visible after one session:
- Brighter, more luminous tone — the most consistent result, visible in 95%+ of clients
- Plumper, more hydrated appearance — softer fine lines around the eyes and mouth
- Slightly more even skin texture — pores look smaller, surface roughness reduced
- Reduced redness or congestion — depending on the OxyPod variant used
- Healthier-looking skin — the kind of "glow" that's hard to put a finger on but easy to see in the mirror
What one session doesn't typically do:
- Eliminate fine lines or wrinkles (collagen-driven changes need a series)
- Resolve significant hyperpigmentation (those need consistent treatment over months)
- Treat acne scarring at depth (microneedling is the right tool for that)
- Replace a comprehensive skincare routine (OxyGeneo enhances; doesn't substitute)
The day-after effect is what surprises most clients: skin still looks visibly improved 24 to 48 hours after treatment, often more so than immediately after as the deeper hydration takes hold. This is when most pre-wedding and pre-event clients see the photos that convince them to book a series.
After a series of four
The standard series is 4 to 6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart. What changes meaningfully across that protocol:
Skin texture — by session three, most clients notice their skin feels different to the touch. Smoother, less rough, more uniformly soft. This is the surface effect of consistent exfoliation combined with the deeper hydration response.
Even tone — by session four, accumulated hyperpigmentation visibly fades. This is most noticeable on cheeks, around the mouth, and in the under-eye area.
Pore appearance — pores look meaningfully smaller because the surrounding skin is plumper and the pores themselves are clearer.
Fine lines — the smile lines around the mouth, the early forehead lines, and the fine lines around the eyes look softer. This is the hyaluronic-driven hydration response, not collagen — but it produces visible improvement that lasts for weeks after each session.
Overall skin quality — clients tend to describe it as "my skin just feels healthier." Less reactive, less prone to congestion, more responsive to skincare products.
Where a 4-session series often plateaus:
- Deeper wrinkles — these need collagen induction; pair OxyGeneo with quarterly microneedling
- Acne scarring — microneedling is the right tool
- Severe melasma or post-inflammatory pigmentation — these often need targeted brightening protocols (vitamin C, retinoids, prescription tretinoin) layered alongside OxyGeneo
- Skin laxity — radiofrequency or microneedling RF is the better choice
After 6 to 12 months of consistent treatment
This is the regimen we recommend to most long-term clients: OxyGeneo every 4 to 6 weeks, typically alongside quarterly microneedling and ongoing at-home skincare. Over 6 to 12 months:
- Hyperpigmentation that took years to develop visibly fades
- Skin maturity (the firmness and resilience of younger skin) genuinely improves
- The "off-day skin" phenomenon — that thing where your skin looks dull two days a week for no reason — becomes much rarer
- Photographs reveal more change than mirrors because gradual improvement is hard to perceive day-to-day
Most clients on a year-plus regimen describe it as "the difference between maintaining my skin and watching my skin slowly decline." The compounding effect of consistent OxyGeneo plus a complementary skincare routine produces what most facials promise but don't deliver: actual long-term skin health.

How OxyGeneo compares to a HydraFacial visually
Both treatments produce immediate visible results in a single session. The differences in visible outcomes:
OxyGeneo tends to produce more dramatic plumping and oxygenation effect (the Bohr Effect makes skin look subtly more "lit from within"), better handling of dehydration, and more sustained 24-to-48-hour after-glow.
HydraFacial tends to produce more aggressive surface clearing (suction extraction is more thorough on congested skin), slightly less deep hydration, and shorter-lasting glow.
Neither is universally "better" — they're different mechanisms producing different patterns of result. We have a full OxyGeneo vs HydraFacial comparison for clients deciding between the two.
What you should photograph (if you're tracking results)
If you want to see the change over a series, photograph in consistent conditions:
- Same lighting (natural daylight, indirect, no flash)
- Same angle (straight-on plus 45-degree side)
- Same time of day (mid-morning or mid-afternoon)
- Bare face (no makeup, hair pulled back)
- Day before each session, then 48 hours after each session
Most clients are surprised by the cumulative change visible at session four when comparing back to the pre-session-one photo. Real photos under consistent conditions reveal what mirror-based comparison can miss.
